چکیده

The INTEGRAL observatory has been (re-)discovering new X-ray sources since the beginning of nominal operations in early 2003. These sources include X-ray binaries, Active Galactic Nuclei, cataclysmic variables, etc. Amongst the X-ray binaries, the true nature of many of these sources has remained largely elusive, though they seem to make up a population of highly absorbed high-mass X-ray binaries. One of these new sources, IGR J19140+0951, was serendipitously discovered on 2003 Mar 6 during an observation of the galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105. We observed IGR J19140+0951 with UKIRT in order to identify the infrared counterpart. Here we present the Hand K-band spectra. We determined that the companion is a B0.5-type bright supergiant in a wind-fed system, at a distance . 5 kpc.

Optical identification of IGR J 19140 + 0951

IGR J19140+0951 was discovered by INTEGRAL in 2003 in the 4-100 keV band. Observations with INTEGRAL and RXTE provide a tentative identification as a high-mass X-ray binary (HMXB) with a neutron star as accretor. However, an optical counterpart was thus far not established. Neither was the presence of a pulsar, which is commonly observed in HMXBs. We have observed IGR J19140+0951 with Chandra a...

Infrared identification of IGR J09026−4812 as a Seyfert 1 galaxy

Context. IGR J09026−4812 was discovered by INTEGRAL in 2006 as a new hard X-ray source. Thereafter, an observation with Chandra pinpointed a single X-ray source within the ISGRI error circle, showing a hard spectrum, and improving its high-energy localisation to a subarcsecond accuracy. Thus, the X-ray source was associated to the infrared counterpart 2MASS J09023731−4813339 whose JHKS photomet...

Chandra Localizations and Spectra of Integral Sources in the Galactic Plane

We report on the results of observations of hard X-ray sources in the Galactic plane with the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The hard X-ray “IGR” sources were discovered by the INTEGRAL satellite, and the goals of the Chandra observations are to provide sub-arcsecond localizations to obtain optical and infrared counterparts and to provide constraints on their 0.3–10 keV spectra. We obtained relativ...

Peering through the stellar wind of IGR J19140+0951 with simultaneous INTEGRAL/RXTE observations

We have used the RXTE and INTEGRAL satellites simultaneously to observe the High Mass X-ray binary IGR J19140+0951. The spectra obtained in the 3–80 keV range have allowed us to perform a precise spectral analysis of the system along its binary orbit. The spectral evolution confirms the supergiant nature of the companion star and the neutron star nature of the compact object. Using a simple ste...

J 17544 − 2619 : A new supergiant fast X - ray transient revealed by optical / infrared observations ⋆

One of the most recent discoveries of the INTEGRAL observatory is the existence of a previously unknown population of X-ray sources in the inner arms of the Galaxy. IGR J17544−2619, IGR J16465−4507 and XTE J1739−302 are among these sources. Although the nature of these systems is still unexplained, the investigations of the optical/NIR counterparts of the two last sources, combined with high en...
